  • THEY have spent the past two weeks entertaining the self-isolating nation.

But while Robbie Williams and Ayda Field have been doing their utmost to put a smile on our faces — thanks to Rob’s “coronaoke” musical sessions and Ayda’s hilarious home workouts — the pair have been battling their own Covid-19 concerns.

In addition to caring for a their six-week old-son, Beau, born via a surrogate, the couple have been dealing both with their own well-being worries and those of their beloved parents.

In their first interview since Beau’s arrival, Robbie says he was struck down with virus symptoms while in quarantine following a cancelled gig in Australia.

The 46-year-old says: “When I landed back in LA it was unusually cloudy and grey, and what with everything going on it did feel very apocalyptic.

“I was in quarantine in an Airbnb down the road from my family and started worrying about food, about my medication running out, about Beau and my family, and was just very fearful for a couple of days.

“Then I could feel my body was getting lethargic and tired and heavy and I convinced myself I’d got coronavirus.

“I never normally do it but I got down on my knees and prayed.

“I thought about my wife and family.

“Within 30 seconds I had lifted my vibration and was in love.

“And you know what? The symptoms went away and the fear went away.

“I’ve now safeguarded myself against lower energies, against feelings of worthlessness.

Robbie says thinking about his wife and family kept his spirits up while suffering symptoms

‘I could feel my body was getting lethargic and tired and heavy’, he said

“I have to do this because I am a depressive.

“If I don’t keep myself safe then it’s not a pleasant place to be.

“Please excuse my whimsy when I say isolation is easy — what I mean is that I am doing estimable things for myself where I raise my frequency and I don’t give in to the temptations of those negative thoughts and feelings.”

The newly spiritual Robbie also credits daily mediation for helping him to keep on the level during lockdown.

And while the former Take That star and his glamorous wife may be “holed-up” in a sprawling Los Angeles mansion, they have family concerns just like the rest of us.

Our dogs & kids are 100% central. Rob’s doing coronaoke to make people smile and give back a bit

Robbie adds: “We are incredibly fortunate to be where we are but right now I am also talking for my dad, who is in the bungalow in Stoke-on-Trent and for my mum, who is in a house by herself.

“They’re of that age that is very vulnerable to what is going on, so I am speaking to them on the phone daily.”

American actress Ayda, 40, continues: “For us there is the fear because we’ve got a newborn and my mum has health issues, she has Parkinson’s and lupus.

“I know we are incredibly blessed to be living in a beautiful location, not cooped up in a one-bed flat with 30 of us going ape s**t at each other, and not having to scrap and hustle for toilet paper.

“But the mental struggle has been the hardest bit about isolation, making sure we don’t slip into our own dark holes.

Rob’s been doing ‘coronaoke’ sessions and Ayda home workouts

“That’s why Rob’s been doing his coronaoke, trying to lift spirits, make people smile and give back a bit, and why I’ve been doing my workout videos using rosé bottles. Just moving is so important.”

And in the wake of her 70-year-old mum Gwen’s health battles, both Ayda and Robbie — who were on the panel of The X Factor in 2018 — have had genetic testing. The tests worryingly showed Ayda carries a breast cancer gene.

She adds: “It turns out that I have a slightly higher risk of breast cancer.

“As a result I’m now doing mammograms yearly.”

The Let Me Entertain You singer, meanwhile, says he is, “allergic to anything that makes you speed, anything with an ‘ine’ at the end like caffeine.”

Of course, these days Robbie is clean as a whistle: No coffee, no smoking, no alcohol and no drugs — a far cry from his younger days.

As a cheeky, floppy-fringed teen from Stoke, he sprung to fame in the 90s as one fifth of Take That.

In 2016 he overtook David Bowie to become Britain’s biggest-selling male soloist and, following a well-documented rift with the boyband, reunited with them for a sell-out tour in 2010.

It is the same year he married former US Days Of Our Lives soap star Ayda, four years after first meeting her.

The actress helped him overcome his drink and drug battles and today remains hands-on with his career and her own.

The couple have four kids, Teddy, seven, Charlie, five, Coco, one, and baby Beau, and last week a heart-warming video of Robbie reuniting with them post-quarantine went viral.

August marks their ten-year anniversary, and the couple will renew their vows.

Speaking over Zoom, Ayda adds: “We are going to get remarried.

“Obviously we don’t know how that’s going to happen now but both our dogs and our kids will be 100 per cent central to proceedings.

“We have decided we have to celebrate our lives, to celebrate these moments, because it is so important.

“Rob’s parents have their health stuff, and Gwen’s got hers, so it’s a really nice opportunity to celebrate with our families.”

So, with four kids and about 400 dogs — one is sitting on Ayda’s lap during our interview — how do they keep the romance alive in lockdown?

“There is no romance,” she quips.

“I haven’t shaved since quarantine. But there is a lot of love, and we like to Netflix and chill. [Tiger King is an obsession].

“We are also starting Formal Fridays, which means we have to get out of our underpants, put on some clothes and have dinner together as a family.

“In the past we’ve had a couple of one-off sessions of couple’s therapy, but nothing regular.

“I think there will be a lot of corona divorces during this so it’s really lucky that Rob and I just really like each other!”

A slimline Robbie has also used this downtime to indulge his passion for painting.

A makeshift gallery holds 30 “punk and DIY” inspired portraits and Robbie lumps Ayda with the end of the interview so he can finish off a crayon drawing.

After showing me some of his work — they really are good — Robbie says he plans to exhibit them.

Robbie was a legendary ladies’ man, with celebrity conquests ranging from Cameron Diaz and Nicole Kidman to Geri Halliwell and Anna Friel.

    And he’s still something of a pin-up.

Ayda says with a laugh: “Rob gets all this really weird s**t in his DMs.”

“I thanked him and he sent me an aubergine symbol with a shrug emoji. A lot of people still question my sexuality.”

«Maduro pide nuevo refinanciamiento a China.
