Prem bosses fear they could be BANNED from using unvaccinated players as Government launches new Covid crackdown
PREM club bosses fear they could be BANNED from playing unvaccinated players under the new Covid crackdown.
The Government confirmed it is introducing the Covid Plan B in response to the threat posed by the Omicron variant.APFans at Old Trafford and other stadiums face needing to show vaccine passports[/caption] AFPPrem bosses like Steven Gerrard and Brendan Rodgers might have to cast an anxious eye around their squads over who is vaccinated if rules are tightened further[/caption]
That will mean fans needing to show ‘vaccine passports’ to enter grounds from next Wednesday.
But across the Prem there are growing concerns that players who are not double vaccinated may fall foul of tighter guidelines.
League chiefs announced in October that 81 per cent of Prem stars had received at least one vaccination, with 68 per cent double-jabbed.
Those numbers are understood to have risen appreciably in the past six weeks, with some clubs pushing hard for players to take their booster shots as well.
But despite Government guidelines that suggest unvaccinated players should only have to test negative in order to be allowed to play, club chiefs are concerned that there could be tougher restrictions.
The clubs have noted how the NBA in the United States wanted a vaccine mandate for basketball stars, with Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets still banned from even training because of the Covid requirements in New York state.
And in Germany’s Bundesliga, unvaccinated players who test positive or are forced to isolate – including Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich – have had their salaries docked.
There is currently no suggestion that the Government envisages a clampdown on the activities of unvaccinated players. Most read in Football SHALL NOT PASS Fans must show Covid passports to enter Prem stadiums from next Wednesday 'WE'RE SCARED' Spurs 'will ask Prem to postpone Brighton clash' as EIGHT players have Covid PS-GLEE Watch Messi curl in wondergoal as he OVERTAKES icon Pele with 758th career strike VAN DE START How Man Utd could line-up vs Young Boys with Van de Beek & Henderson CONFIRMED 'MISINTERPRETED' Lewandowski denies Messi Ballon d'Or rift after 'empty words' claims JINGLE HELL PL clubs fear Xmas lockdown with fans BANNED from grounds amid Omicron rise

They will be required under the published draft of ‘Plan B’ regulations to ‘test regularly if they are not fully vaccinated’ in their status as ‘members of the workforce’.
Club and fans were relieved to hear that while they face restrictions from next week, there will not be a blanket ban on unvaccinated supporters.
Prem bosses had been worried by the draft regulations which stated: “In certain settings, mandatory vaccine-only certification could be introduced for all visitors aged 18 or over.”
But in his Plan B announcement, which will apply to all sporting events with crowds of more than 10,000, PM Boris Johnson stated that supporters able to show negative tests will also be granted access – at least for now.
The clubs have been preparing for the possibility of vaccine passports for months and even offered to be ‘guinea pigs’ for trials of the concept when the country was emerging from the first and second lockdowns, as a way of ensuring money could still come through the gates.
Prem chiefs calculated that 18 months of no or significantly reduced crowds cost clubs a collective £2billion, with Spurs and Manchester United missing out on £6m in revenue every home match day without supporters in the ground.
If I was a supporter, I’d want to sit next to somebody I know had been vaccinated and gives me the best chance of not contracting the virus.David Moyes
West Ham boss David Moyes appeared to back tougher rules. He said: “We don’t want any more Covid. There have been too many deaths throughout the world.
“If I was a football supporter, I’d want to go and sit next to somebody who I know had been vaccinated and gives me the best chance of not contracting the virus.
“The crowds are so important to football.
“People have a right to make their own choices and I respect that.
“But it’s something now which we would seriously have to consider.”
SunSport revealed there are increasing fears of another total lockdown being imposed in the coming weeks, although that is not on the agenda at this stage.
But fans could also face temperature tests at checkpoints before getting to their entry turnstiles and the new mask rules are expected to apply for all indoor areas of grounds and potentially even for fans at their seats.
That will cause issues for stewards who will be under pressure to enforce any new restrictions, especially if there is a public backlash against the edicts.
Clubs are braced from a backlash and potential issues from fans who are told they cannot take up seats they have paid for without proof of double vaccination or immune status.

I went on a super cringe date – he made me buy half gallon of ice cream, eat it with a fork, and made an awkward request
FIRST dates can be tough.
We’re often preoccupied with how we look, worried about awkward conversations, and wonder whether we’ll hit it off.TikTokAfter agreeing to go on a date with a man she met online, a series of scary events unfolded[/caption] TikTokIn the video, she stared at the camera seriously and spoke in a deadpan tone to recount the horrible night[/caption]
One woman shared details about the worst first date she’s ever been on, and the internet is freaking out.
Maddi met a man on the dating site OkCupid, and he asked her if she was available for a date that night.
He told her his car was in the shop, so he would need her to pick him up.
“Did I do it? Yes. Should I have? No,” she began.
To her surprise, when she arrived at his townhouse, she saw a BMW parked in the garage.
“I said ‘Oh is that your roommate’s car?’ And he said ‘No, that’s my weekend car. And it’s not the weekend so I can’t drive it yet.’”Most read in Fabulous W-RAP LESSON I was fed up of my kids complaining I never buy them anything so showed them SECRET SIGN Meghan & Harry wedding video reveals 'hidden message' fans are just discovering JERK FROM HOME Woman hears cheeky builders making X-rated comments outside bedroom window DISHING IT OUT Mum-of-11 shows how she cooks dinner but trolls slam it as ‘prison food’ NOEL HELL I'm a sex expert and these are the five big mistakes couples make at Christmas NOTE KIDDING Dad shares the ‘ridiculous’ letter handed to his daughter on first day at work
That was only the first bizarre red flag for Maddi.
“So, I start driving us to go get ice cream and I said, ‘Where do you want to go get ice cream?’ And he said ‘Kroger.’”
When he invited her out on an ice cream date, she didn’t think he meant they would buy a half gallon of ice cream at a chain grocery store.
But that’s exactly what they did.
“We get back in the car and I say, ‘Where to?’ And he says, ‘My apartment.’
“Should I have run away screaming? Yes. Did I? No. I went back to the house.”
Inside the townhouse, she said that his things were extremely organized and neat—to a point of eeriness.
“We go into the kitchen, he opens up the vat of ice cream, and takes out two dinner plates.
“He puts them on the table and then starts scooping ice cream onto the dinner plates. Then he hands me a fork to eat the ice cream with, and I do it.”
Maddi found it all strange but hoped the date would take a turn.
They moved to the couch and put on a Disney movie.
“Then he immediately makes a very aggressive move towards me and starts making out with my face.”
An uncalled-for request came shortly after: he asked if he could suck her toes.
“I say ‘No.’ And he says ‘Why not? You’ll like it.’”
To try and get away from the strangeness of it all and wrap her head around what was happening, she went to the bathroom for a break.
But the break never came.
He followed her into the bathroom, locked the door behind him, turned off the lights and turned on the bathtub.
“He says, ‘I like water noises.’
“We stand there in silence for about two to three minutes while the bathtub runs. Then he leaves.”
Taking it as her chance to escape, she made up an excuse to leave and was shocked when he told her couldn’t wait to see her again.
“I left knowing that I almost died that night,” she said.
But things got even more dangerous afterwards.
“Then he proceeded to cyber stalk me for the next year and a half, by creating different fake dating profiles,” she concluded.
More than a first date gone wrong, Maddi’s experience left her terrified.TikTokShe claimed he would go on various fake accounts and pretend he didn’t know her, asking if she would be his dominant or submissive[/caption] We pay for your stories!

A WOMAN has proudly showcased her full beard and the self care that she puts into it, revealing that she refuses to shave it off.
TikTok user PeekabooPumpkin regularly shares videos of her facial hair that grows out of her chin as a result of her polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).TikTok / peekaboopumpkinPeekabooPumpkin has a full beard and loves it[/caption] TikTok / peekaboopumpkinIn fact she even styles and starightens her facial hair[/caption]

She now shares videos promoting body positivity with her 87,000 strong TikTok following after learning to embrace her hirsutism.
“When you are a female with facial hair you learn to love yourself differently,” she comments.
The TikTok star, who is happily married, often shares videos of her grooming routine which includes brushing, straightening and occasionally plaiting her beard.
She also uses products on her facial hair to ensure it is looking full and shiny on all occasions.
But while PeekabooPumpkin has totally embraced her natural beauty, she is targeted by trolls who make cruel remarks about her aesthetic. Most read in Fabulous W-RAP LESSON I was fed up of my kids complaining I never buy them anything so showed them SECRET SIGN Meghan & Harry wedding video reveals 'hidden message' fans are just discovering JERK FROM HOME Woman hears cheeky builders making X-rated comments outside bedroom window DISHING IT OUT Mum-of-11 shows how she cooks dinner but trolls slam it as ‘prison food’ NOEL HELL I'm a sex expert and these are the five big mistakes couples make at Christmas NOTE KIDDING Dad shares the ‘ridiculous’ letter handed to his daughter on first day at work

Commenting on a video, one wrote: “You’re awesome and beautiful.”
“I admire your courage and attitude,” wrote another, while a third added, “Wish I could be as confident as you!”What is PCOS?
It occurs when the sacs the ovaries sit in are unable to release an egg, which means ovulation doesn’t happen.
For many, the only hint of PCOS is irregular periods, while in more severe cases sufferers can be left with embarrassing hair growth on their faces, chest, back and backside.
Medics don’t yet know what causes polycystic ovary syndrome, according to the Mayo Clinic.
But there are several factors thought to play a role, including:
- excess insulin in the body – if you have too much insulin in your body it may increase your androgen (male hormones) production which could interfere with your ovaries ability to ovulate.
- low grade inflammation – some research has shown that women with the condition suffer from low grade inflammation, which can stimulate the ovaries to produce androgen.
- it’s hereditary – the chances are that if your mother or sister suffers with polycystic ovaries then you will develop the condition too.
A MUM has shared how she was left “humiliated” after she was asked to leave a bar at an old fashioned working men’s club because she is a woman.
Julie Simpson,47, was left fuming after she went to the Cargo Fleet Social Club in Middlesbrough to cheer on her darts playing partner when members of the club shouted “get your lass out of here.”Evening GazetteJulie Simpson said she was left humiliated[/caption] Evening GazetteThe 47-year-old was told to leave the bar of the Cargo Fleet Social Club in Middlesbrough[/caption]
She told Teesside Live: “In my life, I’ve never been shouted and told ‘get out – no women here.'”
“We both went to the bar to order our drinks, and the next thing we knew we were being shouted at – they were shouting ‘get your lass out of here! Get your lass out of here! She’s not allowed in here so get her out!’
“It was really degrading – I just thought to myself what the heck? And it was just normal customers bellowing at me.
“But there was a woman barmaid in there, and as I was talking to her she just told me that they are ‘old fashioned in here’.
“It was really degrading and I felt about two foot tall. I turned to my other half and said ‘look, play your darts and I’ll come back and pick you up – but he said no.

Ms Simpson from Acklam Green claims there were no posters on the wall explaining the rules and she was not told anything by the barmaid.
The club’s secretary Brian Wilson explained that there are rules in place to prevent women from entering the bar over fears they would be exposed to bad language or fighting.
“They get a card, and they are allowed to go to the Christmas party – it is all free for them – and it seems the only person who is complaining is a woman from a different club.
“It is an old fashioned working men’s club and we don’t think it is right (to have women present) when there are men effing and blinding in the bar – it isn’t right when there are ladies sitting there.”
“We don’t have no lady members in the club, they are all guests and we have a dart room and we allow them to sit in the dart room.
“But because of the bad language situation and the drunken situation, we don’t like women in the bar.”
He continued by saying the club welcomes women in the lounge and darts areas but they are not allowed to enter the bar.
He added that other members of the club don’t have a problem with their rules and says they have never had another complaint.
Yet Julie insists she was a victim of discrimination and added: “I would understand if I’d shouted or swore at the staff, but in this day and age, it is normal (for a woman) to go to the bar and get a pint.”

“It was done this morning, I had a filter on it and it’s TV makeup,” she added before mentioning another pic she shared to compare.
“I posted a reel from Baby Mamas No Drama earlier today and that had my regular everyday makeup and it literally looks like I have no makeup on.
“This is TV makeup and it’s so you don’t look washed out,” she said again referring to the makeup she was wearing.
“So, between that and the filter, I promise you guys, I’m not trying to be something I’m not. It was just the makeup plus the filter.

While dealing with backlash from fans, the TV star also stirred up drama between former co-star Briana DeJesus, 27, and her baby daddy Chris Lopez.
On Monday, the 29-year-old took to her Instagram Stories to make a juicy claim that Briana slept with her ex when he visited Miami.
The claim began when a fan asked: “What did Javiana owe you while pregnant with/after having Lopez Child?”
Alongside a selfie of the Teen Mom 2 star sipping her coffee and showing off black french tips nails, Kailyn wrote: “I don’t know what you’re trying to say but she allegedly f**ked the third one in April so go ask all of them.”
One day after Kailyn made the allegation, Briana shared her side of the story with a simple statement.

The hearing is to rule on Briana’s anti-SLAPP motion, which protects a person’s freedom of speech, that was filed in August to have the case dismissed.

FOR Boris Johnson, the past 48 hours have been a horror show of historic proportions.
That strategy was exploded by the emergence of year-old footage of his then spokeswoman Allegra Stratton conducting a mock Press Q&A with other aides, in which they giggled about the party, and how to cover it up.
The clip has unleashed tidal waves of fury in his party and in the country, with even Ant and Dec mocking the PM’s relationship with the truth, in a manner far more brutal than Sir Keir Starmer is ever likely to manage.
Yesterday, with little alternative, the PM condemned the film as sickening, yet still refused to admit a party took place.
He also announced what risks looking like a can-kicking inquiry into it, while a contrite Ms Stratton fell on her sword.
The biggest problem of all is that it’s seen to be one rule for Whitehall and the PM, and another for everyone else.
Gatherings in No10 while families were unable to see loved ones even on their deathbeds… Barnard Castle… Sleaze… A senior Foreign Office civil servant staying on holiday for 11 DAYS as the Afghan evacuation floundered…Most read in The Sun LET IT B Here's everything you can and can't do from Friday under Plan B Covid rules HERE WE GO AGAIN PM triggers Plan B with WFH, jab passports & face mask rules within DAYS déjà VU Omicron could hospitalise 1,000-a-day, Sage warns as lockdown 'can't be ruled out' 'will never forget you' Fearne Cotton heartbroken after death of 'best friend' of 20 years FRIGHT BEFORE XMAS PM may trigger Plan B and hit Brits with Covid restrictions to save Xmas 'use your brain' Katie Price makes 'dangerous' parenting blunder with new photo of son Jett
To the public mind, it’s madness and amounts to a failure of leadership by the PM that cannot and must not continue.
Which brings us to the decision to trigger Plan B Covid restrictions last night.
Cynics will no doubt see it as a distraction tactic — a bid to clear up and move on from the debris of Partygate.
This is probably unfair — but that the question can even be asked is a mark of how low the nation’s trust has sunk.
And, whatever the basis for the decision, millions will question its wisdom in the face of a mutant Omicron strain which is apparently milder in its effects.
Especially when the main risk of ending up in intensive care appears to be to those who remain unvaccinated.
For curbs on the public are not cost-free in any sense. Just those announced yesterday are tipped to hit the UK economy by £4BILLION A MONTH.
That’s without getting into the contradictions of guidance to work from home while being free to attend Christmas parties in a pub with your colleagues.
Predictably, scientists at Sage — who by now might as well be wearing sandwich boards with “The End Is Nigh” scrawled on them — howl for another full lockdown, regardless of the non-Covid damage to our physical and mental health.
The PM must resist them tooth and claw. The cost to our children, cancer patients, and businesses is just too great.
Besides, with the response to Partygate having shot yet more gaping holes in his credibility, Boris must fear the impact of his edicts now risks being diluted anyway. We pay for your stories!

‘Some days I couldn’t get out of bed… he would just hold me’, Lisa Snowdon on how fiance helped her through menopause
LISA SNOWDON can count George Clooney among her high-profile romances – but it’s a George from Yorkshire rather than Hollywood who has her heart now.
At the time, Lisa was suffering a hotbed of perimenopausal hormones, which she has said stole her chances of having children with George.
While it is not impossible to get pregnant in perimenopause, Lisa, now 49, knew she probably wouldn’t have a biological child.
The couple are now engaged and insist they are content that it is just the two of them. Model Lisa says: “Kids are amazing and enrich your life, but let’s be honest, there are enough kids in the world. I was with my sister and her kids recently and it is full on. The noise alone — I’m like, ‘Guys, can you keep it down?’
“There’s sometimes too much screaming but it’s amazing to watch them grow, listen to them read and see their imaginations develop. We adore the kids but when we leave, we are like, ‘Bye!’”
George, who is six years younger than Lisa and doesn’t have any children, agrees. He says: “There’s a weird expectancy when it comes to having kids. But we have the freedom to make the choice and I feel we don’t have to justify it. Do I feel like I’ve missed out? Absolutely not. It never crosses my mind. I’m 100 per cent happy that it’s just me and Lisa. We have a very, very fun time.”
Lisa, who went to the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts with the likes of supermodel Naomi Campbell, was scouted by a model agency at the age of 19. She went on to host several shows on music channel MTV, presented Britain’s Next Top Model and posed for the covers of lads’ mags Maxim, Loaded and GQ and featured in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women. Most read in The Sun LET IT B Here's everything you can and can't do from Friday under Plan B Covid rules HERE WE GO AGAIN PM triggers Plan B with WFH, jab passports & face mask rules within DAYS déjà VU Omicron could hospitalise 1,000-a-day, Sage warns as lockdown 'can't be ruled out' 'will never forget you' Fearne Cotton heartbroken after death of 'best friend' of 20 years FRIGHT BEFORE XMAS PM may trigger Plan B and hit Brits with Covid restrictions to save Xmas 'use your brain' Katie Price makes 'dangerous' parenting blunder with new photo of son Jett
They met while George was head of events at MTV and had a brief romance.
Meanwhile, George set up a marketing and advertising agency. It was 14 years before they would get together again, but the couple don’t feel they have missed out.
Lisa says: “I feel like that was the way it was supposed to happen. We’ve had relationships that weren’t that great along the way — we’ve made our mistakes here and there — and we’ve learnt the kind of relationship we want to be in.
“It’s not like we’re joined at the hip. I love meals with the girls and George enjoys a day at the races, but when we’re together it’s really easy. Twenty years ago the age gap seemed bigger but George was pretty much a baby back then — and he was in the pub the whole time so that never would have worked.
“Now, there doesn’t feel like an age gap at all. George is a fount of knowledge and so intelligent. That’s one of the things I really love about him. He has a brilliant brain, and that’s hugely sexy.”‘CRAZY RAGES’
And George has also been a rock for Lisa while she has been going through the menopause — a period where she piled on 3st and suffered from brain fog, anxiety and fits of rage.
A winning combination of George’s support and hormone replacement therapy means she is now “the happiest” she has ever been.
She says: “During my crazy rages when I flew off the handle George was patient and kind. He could see through it — ‘This is not Lisa talking’, that kind of thing. He saw it for what it was — some awful anger attack that would pass as quickly as it came, almost.
“Some days I couldn’t get out of bed because of debilitating bleeding during my monthly cycle but George would just hold me, and tell me everything would be OK.
“There were periods when my clothes didn’t fit me and I felt really down. When you’re in the thick of it you think it will never end. Why am I angry, over-emotional — you just don’t know what is going on. George was there for me every step of the way — I’ve really lucked out with him.”
George adds: “The menopause is part of life and making it into a huge drama isn’t going to help. It’s important to be there and try to understand the best you can. I tried to give Lisa stability and there weren’t any huge rows — I was patient.

“I learned the menopause is different for every woman, so I felt more useful asking Lisa about what was going on for her, rather than turning it into a science lesson. The biggest change was that I couldn’t get a word in edgeways — well, that’s not a change really.”
And his advice to other men whose partners are going through menopause? “Keep perspective, it’s not forever and be patient.”
George is convinced they recently celebrated their seventh year together, but Lisa insists it was their sixth. Either way, there is no hint of the “seven-year itch”.
George proposed 14 months into the relationship, but Lisa insists they are enjoying life together so much that getting married is not a priority.
Lisa, who starred on Strictly in 2008 and I’m A Celeb in 2016, adds: “We are so happy it isn’t something we feel we need — and it’s definitely six years we’ve been together, but they all blend into one. I already feel there isn’t enough time left for the next part of our adventure together.”
George agrees: “I laugh every single day with Lisa, what more can you ask for? When you think of relationships that don’t work it’s usually because one takes the other for granted, but with us there’s more give and give, than give and take.”

Lisa’s hoping her 50th birthday will be low-key, unlike her 40th which was a swanky affair in London with actor Matt Damon among the guests.
She says: “My 40th was massive and I feel like I’ve ticked that box now. Milestone birthdays can feel emotional if you’re not in a happy place, but I feel I am where I want to be in my relationship so I’m feeling good about entering the next decade.
“I’ll be happy with something intimate, and George is planning to take me away.”

An estimated one in five of the UK’s population are currently experiencing it.
Yet the menopause is still whispered in hush tones like it’s something to be embarrassed about.
The stigma attached to the transition means women have been suffering in silence for centuries.
The Sun are determined to change that, launching the Fabulous Menopause Matters campaign to give the taboo a long-awaited kick, and get women the support they need.
The campaign has three aims:
- To make HRT free in England
- To get every workplace to have a menopause policy to provide support
- To bust taboos around the menopause
The campaign has been backed by a host of influential figures including Baroness Karren Brady CBE, celebrities Lisa Snowdon, Jane Moore, Michelle Heaton, Zoe Hardman, Saira Khan, Trisha Goddard, as well as Dr Louise Newson, Carolyn Harris MP, Jess Phillips MP, Caroline Nokes MP and Rachel Maclean MP.
Exclusive research commissioned by Fabulous, which surveyed 2,000 British women aged 45-65 who are going through or have been through the menopause, found that 49% of women suffered feelings of depression, while 7% felt suicidal while going through the menopause.
50% of respondents said there is not enough support out there for menopausal women, which is simply not good enough. It’s time to change that. The Mega AgencyToday she reveals: ‘George would just hold me, and tell me everything would be OK’[/caption] GettyShe adds: ‘George was there for me every step of the way — I’ve really lucked out with him’[/caption] We pay for your stories!
